Description:
This wicked white Shelby Cobra was piloted to a spectacular win in the GT Class of the 1963 Mosport Canadian Grand Prix by British driver Ken Miles.
Miles raced motorcycles prior to serving as a tank sergeant in the British Army in World War II.
He was hired by Carroll Shelby as a test driver in the early 1960s. Miles helped Shelby with developing the Shelby Cobra. He also is widely credited with helping Shelby develop the GT40 and the Mustang GT350. According to Wikipedia, "Miles was affectionately known as "Teddy Teabagger" in reference to always having a small teapot and a hotplate to make afternoon tea while at the track."
Miles was killed while testing on August 17, 1966 at the Riverside International Raceway when the J-car he was driving suddenly looped, flipped and crashed.
He was also inducted into the Motorsports Hall Of Fame Of America in 2001.
